Ingredients

  • 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts (or thighs)
  • 4 tablespoons butter, divided
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 cup chicken broth
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1 teaspoon dried thyme
  • ½ teaspoon onion powder
  • Salt & black pepper, to taste
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil (optional, for extra sear)
  • Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
  • Lemon wedges (optional, for serving)

Instructions

1. Prep the Chicken

Pat the chicken dry using paper towels. Season generously on both sides with salt, pepper, paprika, thyme, and onion powder.

2. Sear the Chicken

In a large skillet over medium-high heat, melt 2 tablespoons of butter (add olive oil for extra crispness). Sear chicken for 5–6 minutes per side, or until golden and cooked through. Transfer to a plate and set aside.

3. Make the Garlic Butter Sauce

Lower the heat to medium. In the same skillet, add the remaining 2 tablespoons of butter and the minced garlic. Sauté for 1–2 minutes, stirring constantly to avoid burning the garlic.

4. Deglaze with Broth

Pour in the chicken broth, scraping up any browned bits from the bottom of the pan. Let simmer for 4–5 minutes, allowing the sauce to reduce slightly and concentrate in flavor.

5. Bring It All Together

Return the chicken to the skillet. Spoon the sauce over each piece, letting it simmer for 3–5 minutes so the chicken soaks up all that garlicky, buttery goodness.

To Serve

Garnish with chopped fresh parsley and a squeeze of lemon juice if desired.
Perfectly pairs with:

  • Creamy mashed potatoes
  • Steamed rice
  • Buttery noodles
  • Or a slice of crusty bread to soak up that luscious sauce!

Tips & Variations

  • Swap paprika for smoked paprika for a deeper flavor.
  • Add a splash of cream or a spoon of Dijon mustard for a twist.
  • Try it with bone-in chicken thighs for even juicier results.
